It consists of a business idea competition and a business plan competition, which are run in parallel. More than 2,500 teams have taken part in the start-up competition since it was launched in 1998 and about 650 companies have been founded as a result. This year 107 participants submitted their business ideas and 95 their business plans. Michela and Gedeminas participated with their project “Sensetag”.  Sensetag is a class of patent-pending, smart, inex- pensive, ultrasmall DNA-based tracers able to measure a range of properties (temperature, oxidative stress, light, pH) in challenging commercial, industrial, research or clinical settings (e.g. deep underground, within live cells). On Monday 15th June the competition ended with an award ceremony, where “Sensetag” was awarded (top 4) together with other 5 finalists.
